TOMS RIVER - The Ocean County Library will host “Ichabod Crane, Washington Irving, and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” at the Waretown and Beachwood Branches.

• Waretown Branch: 4 p.m. Monday, October 16, 112 Main St.
• Beachwood Branch: 7 p.m. Monday, October 16, 126 Beachwood Blvd.

Actor Neill Hartley of the American Historical Theatre will provide an interactive performance of the story of the Headless Horseman. The program will also include a dramatic reading of the story’s postscript followed by discussion about the author, Washington Irving.

This program is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
