Free Practice Tests & Homework Help

Free grade level lessons in various subjects in addition to practice tests for GED and the U.S. Citizenship. Online tutor service is available.

Free lessons and practice tests for GED, HiSET, TASC and U.S. Citizenship. Lessons for building your reading, writing, grammar, math and speaking are available.

Take a practice ESL, GED, or U.S. Citizenship test online. There are many tests for you to practice online for free!

Free classes about writing in English including grammar, composition, and more. This resources also includes basic speaking and research skills.


Books, CDs, and More

ESL materials are available through the Ocean County Library system. Check your branch for availability. The Ocean County Library has books, compact disks, and videos you can borrow.

Literacy New Jersey – Ocean County Programs
Volunteer tutors will help adults learn how to read and write at no cost to the student. Literacy New Jersey also provides assistance to the non-native speaker of English.

Volunteer with Literacy New Jersey – Volunteers are always needed!

  • Volunteer tutors will be trained by Literacy New Jersey. Training materials are provided for the tutor by Literacy New Jersey in Basic Literacy and English as a Second Language (ESL).

  • Volunteer tutors must be able to commit to tutoring for one year.

  • Volunteer tutors meet with their students in a public setting, such as a library.

  • A tutor does NOT need to know a foreign language and does NOT need a college degree.
